A simple, no-nonsense light meter for iPhone, inspired by the handheld meters we loved in the 90s.
Point your phone at a scene, get accurate exposure readings in aperture or shutter priority.
Tested against pro DSLR meters — accurate to within 1/3 stop.
1. Launch Luminic Light Meter and grant camera permission when asked.
2. Point your iPhone at the scene you want to meter.
3. Tap MODE to switch between Aperture Priority (A) and Shutter Priority (S).
4. Use the ISO buttons to set your film/sensor speed.
5. Use the ▲ / ▼ buttons to change the locked value (aperture or shutter, depending on mode).
6. Tap the lens label in the top-left to switch between cameras on supported iPhones.
Camera not working? Check Settings ‚Üí Privacy & Security ‚Üí Camera ‚Üí Luminic and make sure access is enabled.
Readings look off? Luminic Light Meter uses the iPhone camera sensor, which is calibrated differently than a dedicated incident meter. For critical work, calibrate against a known reference and apply a fixed offset in your head.
App is shaky? Cinematic stabilization is enabled by default. If you're seeing jitter, try switching lenses or restarting the app.
Luminic Light Meter does not collect, store, or transmit any data. The camera feed is processed entirely on your device and is never recorded. Read the full Privacy Policy.
